Chapter 9
"Seb, do you want more pancakes? So glad you made me coffee," Her voice faded away. Sebastian opened his eyes slowly. The bedside clock read '7.08 AM'. A smile crept across his face. And that was the first time that has happened in about 10 years.
He happily got up from his bed and for once looked forward to the day. He took a quick shower and was in Anthony's place in an hour.
He stood in front of the door, knocking the hell out of it, pissing poor Anthony who was still in his bed.
"If you knock on the door one more time, I'll knock your head out," Sebastian could hear his friend before seeing him. He chuckled to himself and sported a big grin as he came face to face with Anthony.
"Sebastian, I love that you're in a good mood, but now's not the time man," Anthony groaned in response.
Sebastian peered his head inside as if he was searching for someone. His eyes scanned over to look for any movement inside his friend's flat.
"Is someone inside?" He whispered to Anthony.
"What?! No!"
"Then why do have your knickers in a twist?"
"Maybe because it's 8 in the morning and I was still not out of my bed, but some dumbass decided that it would be nice to knock my door off its frame! At 8 AM!"
Sebastian took a moment to process the robed man's words and erupted into a fit of laughter. Anthony glared at Sebastian and decided that speaking to a lovesick idiot was not going to help his cause. He just wanted to sleep. But he dragged a now smiling Sebastian into his flat and went to take a shower.
He came out of his bedroom to Sebastian making coffee.
"If you hadn't made coffee, I would've probably kicked you out," Anthony spoke in all honesty.
"Well, it was for me, but I made extra out of courtesy," Sebastian shrugged. "Also, I want you in your heightened senses because we are going to talk about ME!" He finished the sentence in a high pitched voice, that Anthony felt the need to cover his ears.
"What about you? The most interesting thing that had happened to you lately, was a dog pooping when you petted it. Wait, even that was last month! Also that was not interesting, I don't know why I said that. Maybe because I can't help but bring it up. Because it's way too funny." Anthony laughed his heart out.
Sebastian frowned at Anthony. He just wanted to talk, not to be made fun of.
But if Anthony thought that his bickering would get to Sebastian, he couldn't be more wrong. Nothing was going to put Sebastian in a bad mood that day. After all, he had just got to do something that he had been chasing for the past 10 years.
He started narrating the events that took place the previous evening, how he went to the coffee shop, how he asked her out, except he omitted the part where he punched Sean. He wasn't sure how Anthony would react to that part of the story. They both sat on Anthony's couch, coffee mugs in their hands, Sebastian excitedly telling a story of how he talked to his crush and Anthony listening to it with the same enthusiasm.
Everything was going according to Sebastian's plan, until Anthony felt the need to intrude, "Wait, wait, wait, you're telling me that you both ordered the last donut, and she told you to keep it because she wasn't that hungry. And then you asked her out? Something doesn't add up."
Of course Anthony had to step in and spoil his story. If only he wasn't such a smartass!
Sebastian couldn't hide it anymore, so he gave in and told the whole story this time. The true story.
"And I punched him, a right hook, straight to his nose. Man, you should've seen him. It was incredible," Sebastian spoke with such a proud expression on his face.
Anthony almost choked on his coffee.
"Seb, you punched a whole man. You do not call that incredible. In fact, it's far from incredible." Anthony tried to make sense of it by spelling it out to his friend, but Sebastian decided not to pay any attention to that.
'His head is far up his ass now' Anthony thought.
"But he was harassing her," Sebastian said in his defense. Of course, had to step in. He would've done the same for anyone. His smile faded. He didn't think Anthony would support his punching Sean but he also didn't think that he'd be mad.
"I get it, but it's not your job. Also you could've just done something else, without punching him straight on his face. Ever think about what might happen now? Media is going to have a field day out of it."
How could Sebastian not know this?
"Nah, no one was there, no one would've seen it," he denied.
"They get ahold of these stuff. They always do. And you should know that." Anthony was upset about it. Not necessarily mad, but upset, for sure.
When he saw Sebastian on his phone as if he wasn't there, he spoke again.
"So, you've lost your mind, Seb?"
Sebastian thoroughly ignored Anthony's question by being lost in his own world. He was thinking of a way to start a conversation with Rayne. He felt like a hormonal teenager talking to his crush for the first time. After googling '10 romantic ways to say good morning to your soulmate', he decided that a simple 'Good Morning :)' would suffice.
