A week had passed since Kikyo had met Inuyasha and the dog eared hanyo decided to stick around Kikyo like glue. Sesshomaru was away on some personal business, that Kikyo didn't have the pleasure of knowing about. With the warning that the legendary thief, Kurama and his partner, Kunoue were going to try and steal the shikon no tama, Kikyo placed several barriers around the village, in hopes of keeping those yokai out. However the stronger the demon the more resistance they have against her reiatsu barriers.

Inuyasha huffed at the news that other yokai were coming after the shikon no tama, so he decided to play guard dog for the miko. He hadn't had much of a choice anyway, if he wanted the beads of his neck. Kikyo was in the village helping Kaede take care of the injured and sick. Meanwhile Inuyasha went out to hunt for some lunch in the river.

At the beginning of the week an unknown disease began to spread through the village. The disease wasn't too lethal as of yet, but villagers were scared for the young  children since the disease only affected children. All that Kikyo could do was slow down the symptoms of the unknown disease, she couldn't do much as she wasn't a doctor and Kikyo would probably do more damage if she done anything drastic. In her opinion, it was better to wait than accidentally kill the children, all she could do was numb their pain.

Two nights before, the village head ordered a small party of villagers to go to the next village, which would take four days journey to go their and return, and get a doctor. There was a special hut were all the sick children were place, Kikyo often visited it, and brought medicine, food and she told stories with Kaede, to entertain them. Even though Keade was still a child and so could get the disease, she still went to help with Kikyo.

Later that night, Kikyo went to her own hut, Kaeda was in her own side of the hut, sleeping like a log. While Kikyo changed into a white sleeping kimono, ready to go to bed,. She laid down on her futon and pulled up the covers. Kikyo shut her eyes, about to go to sleep, until she felt a flicker in her barrier that she set up. Pulling the covers away, Kikyo got up, grabbing her bow and other things that she may need.

Judging by the fact that Inuyasha was running towards Kikyo's hut, he must of felt the yokai breach the barrier. Kikyo went outside her hut and met up with Inuyasha, she wouldn't say it out loud but she was honestly surprised that he went to warn her. Kikyo let a bit of her spiritual power out, so to lure the yokai into coming with her, out of the village. It would destroy the village is Kikyo were to fight the yokai in the village.

"Inuyasha-san, I know that we're not the best of friends, but thank you for helping me," said Kikyo as she ran with Inuyasha, outside of the village gate. She felt the other yokai change their direction, coming after her and Inuyasha. A small blush formed on the hanyo's checks at the praise.

"Don't thank me miko! I just want the shikon no tama for myself, and I'm not going to allow for any other yokai to take it away from you, before me!" Exclaimed Inuyasha, Kikyo smiled at the small declaration, Inuyasha was such a tsundere at times and had cute fluffy dog ears too.

"Well, well, well, it seems we've caught ourselves a miko and hanyo," said a white haired fox yokai called Yoko Kurama, he made no comment on the way she was dressed. Although, Yoko did take his time to study the miko in front of him. Yoko stood on top of a tree branch, leaping down to the ground. He was accompanied by his partner, Kunoue, a bat yokai, who appeared right next to his Yoko. "A beautiful miko, it's such a shame miko, you should hand over the jewel and then we won't have to hurt you."

"Inuyasha, you take the bat yokai," said Kikyo as her eyebrow twitched, "I'll take the fox yokai. Have fun and don't die," Inuyasha nodded to his temporary ally and smirked. The bat yokai looked like a strong fighter. This would would be fun. Inuyasha cracked his knuckles in anticipation. Kunoue made the first move by sending a punch at Inuyasha's face.

"Alright, let's go you stupid bat yokai," called Inuyasha as moved back to avoid Kunoue's punch. The two moved to battle elsewhere, not wanting their Kikyo and Yoko to get caught up in their own fight. Meanwhile, Kikyo had thrown a paper talisman at Yoko, so that it would give her time load her saigu-yumi with a sacred arrow. The paper talisman created a smoke screen like effect, Kikyo used this time to move away from her current position, preferring to find another position that would give her an advantage over Yoko.

The only reason that the paper talisman worked on Yoko was because he let his guard down against Kikyo. He didn't expect a miko to use something so sneaky against him. She was smarter than he anticipated, Yoko licked his lips in anticipation at this hunt. Instead of relying on his sight, he used his other senses to find Kikyo.

"Ah, a woman after my own heart," comment Yoko as he masterfully made his way out of the smoke, a sadistic smirk placed on his lips, "Now, miko I can't wait to fight you," Yoko ran off, looking for Kikyo.

Kikyo knew what she was facing against, a fox demon. They were know for the strength, strong senses and of course their master over deception. She would have to use all her wits against him. And the worst thing of all, Yoko was another anime character, from a different anime, Yu Yu Hakusho. He wasn't even supposed to be in Inuyasha! But then again she wasn't.

Kikyo could feel her heart pounding in her chest. Yoko was coming after her and so she had to pay attention, she could sense and see him. Yoko was about 200 meters away from her position, the opportunity was perfect for her. Kikyo drew her saigu-yumi with one hand while the other held the sacred arrow and saigu-yumi string, she put some of her spiritual power into the arrow and directly fired it at Yoko.

Yoko sense the incoming arrow and used his rose whip to pull him out of the way, now he knew where the Kikyo's position was. Deciding not to stick around if the shot didn't hit, Kikyo moved again to a different position since the shot had given away her location. Kikyo checked for Yoko's presence and found him less than 10 meters away, if she was right, Yoko was directly below her.

"I know your up there," Yoko mused as he looked at her with the eyes of a true predator. He held an innocent rose, playing with it in his hand, before throwing it at the tree which Kikyo was on. The tree broke from the impact of the rose. Kikyo jumped off the tree before she could get caught in the destruction. Two sacred arrows were pointed at Yoko by Kikyo.

"I generally don't care that you are a yokai... it's not my problem. But when you come after the shikon no tama it sadly is my problem," Kikyo said while pointing the sacred arrows at Yoko, "And now dear sir, can you please fuck off!" She shouted as she shot the two sacred arrows. However, these two specific arrows were stronger than Kikyo's usual, they didn't stop until it hit their target. Kikyo didn't usually swear but when someone messes with her sleep... well lets just say that you don't.

A plan formed in Yoko's head to get out of this situation. He would have to destroy both arrows, which wasn't going to be easy as he had to time it perfectly. He could use his fox fire to destroy them, if it didn't work. Both arrows came at either side of Yoko, he stopped, waiting for them to catch up. Once the arrows were close enough he jumped straight up in the air, hoping that the two arrows had cancelled each other out. His eyes looked down to see if it had worked, and it had.

"See miko, you reiastu, while I admit are strong for a human. But it is no match for me," smirked Yoko as he came closer to her, Kikyo gave a sigh as she watched as Yoko came closer to her. Yokai were so arrogant at times like these, thinking that human were weak. "Is the miko angry with me?"

"Why is every yokai that I meet so arrogant? Yes, I get it, humans are much weaker than yokai but your arrogance will just come back to bite you in the backside later," Yoko watched Kikyo rant until she stopped, giving a secretive smile as she pulled out a familiar but different set of beads. "Just so you know this is your own fault." Kikyo chanted the sacred prayer of the beads, Yoko's senses were screaming at him to get away from her but it was to late as the beads were already around his neck.

"Now are you going to leave or am I going to have to punish you yokai?" Asked Kikyo with a bored tone. Yoko's mind was thinking of a different 'punishment' that Kikyo could give him.

"I... miko, no, vixen," Yoko gave a seductive smirk. "You can punish me however you want, vixen. I never knew that the shikon no tama's miko was such a naughty vixen. If I had know this, I would have came sooner."

"SIT FOX, SIT FOX, SIT FOX, SIT FOX, SIT FOX!" Exclaimed Kikyo, having enough of Yoko's attitude towards herself. Maybe the fox yokai will learn something from this experience.
