Year 2017
Takemitchi opened his eyes and confusion instantly filled his mind.
Where is this? He grunted in pain when he tried to move. He looked at the source of the pain and noticed his bandaged thigh. That's right. I blacked out from the pain...
"I gave you some first aid."
"Huh?" he lifted his head and saw a familiar figure. His long hair reminds him of the former First Division Captain, "Baji-kun?" he muttered his name. The man tilted his head and there he saw a streak of yellow in his hair.
"Kazu...tora-kun?" he called his name. Oh, yeah... twelve years have passed so he got released...
"It's been a long time---" he wasn't able to finish what he was about to say when Kazutora's knuckles instantly landed on his cheeks. Takemitchi couldn't speak at all as Kazutora keeps on giving him punches.
"Recently, I saw some guys beating a woman on the street just like this." Takemitchi panted his face now bruised up from the beating he received, "When I jumped in to stop them... the guys beating her... were members of Toman." he gritted his teeth trying to suppress the urge to beat him again.
"When did Toman become a woman-beating organization?" His words are full of venom. He wants to let it all out. The days of watching the very same gang he was once part of ended up like this, "I don't give a shit about you. I wanted..." tears are starting to build up around his eyes, "... to save Chifuyu."
Kazutora turned around and looked at him, "He fought alone for all those years." He doesn't want to involve the Vongola with his plans, "And you... what the hell..." he keeps on trying to fix Toman until the end, "WHAT WERE YOU EVEN DOING?!"
Takemitchi couldn't defend himself. I see now... in this timeline, I ended up so bad... that Chifuyu couldn't rely on me...
"Toman got bigger and went all wrong. Still, you jumped to Kisaki like one of his maids. The only hope was Draken, but he ended up on death row, and nobody knows where Mikey went."
No words are coming out on Takemitchi. He can't say anything. He doesn't deserve to have anything to say at all. So he let Kazutora speak his mind.
"Hey, Takemitchi." he called, "Where... is Toman going?" he asked.
"A long time ago, Mikey said he'd create a new age of delinquents right? Just like he said... Toman became a huge gang." he said, "Drugs, prostitution, illegal casinos, and underground money lending. Toman committed every crime imaginable to grow so large."
This is not the Toman they all used to love.
"Is this... the new age Mikey wanted to create?! Is this the Toman Baji wanted to protect?!"
"I'm gonna make a new age of delinquents."
"We'll give our lives for each other. That's the kind of team I want!"
"Back then, they didn't want Toman to end up like this..." Kazutora stands beside Takemitchi, "Right, Takemitchi?!"
Takemitchi couldn't help but let his tears fall. He remembered the time when Mikey told him his dream for Toman. Yeah, this is all wrong... "The Toman I loved wasn't like this at all! It was always shining."
Kazutora smiled. He knows that this Takemitchi beside him is different now, "Yeah. Let's take our Toman back."
Year 2005
Days have passed since Kiriko's discharge from the Butterfly Estate and now she is back with her not-so-usual but eventually starting to be her usual routine.
"Kiriko-chan!" her eyes landed on the peeking blonde in their classroom with a wide grin present on her face, "There you are!"
Every lunchtime Emma will come to visit her in their classroom and spend time with her. Milim is still not attending school but Kiriko decided to continue her investigation in the shadows while Milim is performing her orders. And that is to help Baji and Kazutora familiarize the mafia history and some basic things since they will be joining the family.
While Milim is away, Emma made it her duty to give her company. It was obvious that she is still not fully convinced that Kiriko is already healed. Her presence did not go unnoticed by the others and conclusions are starting to form in their heads. They heard about the brawl between Valhalla and Tokyo Manji Gang. And that it did not end well for both gangs. Baji Keisuke, a former First Division Captain in Toman and a Valhalla member when the fight occurred died. The day eventually was called Bloody Halloween.
According to the rumors, Baji was not the only one who got hurt at that time. A group of people arrived at the scene in the middle of the fight. Their names are known among the delinquents and rumors spread like wildfire. The name Hibari is continuously associated with rumors. It will not take a lot of time to connect the dots altogether.
"Oh! By the way, are you going to attend Toman's meeting tonight?"
Meeting? "Oh, I think I will," she answered.
"That's great! Let's hang out later! I have someone that I want you to meet." Emma said excitedly but this was cut off immediately, "Sorry, Emma. But my attendance is a must in the meeting."
"Huh?" Kiriko could read the confusion present on Emma's face, "Mikey told me to attend the meeting today as an official member of Toman."
Emma almost forgot that Kiriko's initiation was during Bloody Halloween. And that she is no longer an outsider but an official member.
"Alright, but you owe me another hang-out after that. Let's go bowling some other time!" Kiriko couldn't say no with Emma's sparkling eyes. Before she knows it, her 'hang-out' list is getting full by the Sano siblings only. Looks like Milim and Ady have some competition now.
The day ended uneventfully and Emma bid goodbye to Kiriko while she decided to buy some snacks before going home. While walking on the streets she noticed some delinquents wearing white coats and a big B.D. letters on the back above a dragon-like pattern. She tried to recall what gang owns the same uniform.
Ah, right. The Black Dragons.
A motorcycle gang that has been ruling Japan for generations. Their succession process is quite interesting and similar to how the mafia passes their generation to the next heir. It operates through the rise and fall of an "era," called a "generation," that is led by a generational leader, who was handpicked by either his predecessor or the preceding generation's members.
If my memory is correct. The founder of the Black Dragons was Sano Shinichiro...
"Mikey's older brother, huh," Kiriko mumbled under her breath while taking a small glance at the group of delinquents beating some random kids.
Though their gang could not be considered as a group of delinquents who create a pack together. Black Dragons are actively engaged with some yakuza works under the name of their current President, Taiju Shiba. Their gang once asked permission from the Vongola to finance them in exchange for their manpower. She would not forget how Milim laughed at their antics saying "Are they serious? They are weaker than our weakest team!" to which she agrees.
Taiju Shiba is so full of himself that he often underestimates his opponents. He has never lost before that just made his ego even bigger.
Kiriko reached a familiar store. It was the same store where she first met Mikey, well, unofficially. His whining is definitely hard to forget. A small chuckle let out from her lips remembering that small moment. She entered the store and saw the place where she and Mikey had their first conversation. The time when Toman was divided into two factions. Mikey and Draken had a big argument over Pah's arrest.
Now that these memories are resurfacing. It made her think that it's been quite a while since she got acquainted with Toman. Time sure passes by fast when you are busy. She grab some dorayaki from the shelf and paid for it.
"Kiriko."
Her head turns around hearing someone call her name. There she saw Chifuyu with a half-eaten peyoung yakisoba.
"Chifuyu,"
The last time she saw him was during Bloody Halloween.
"Kiriko... I—"
"Can I seat here?" Chifuyu wasn't able to finish what he was about to say, "Sure..." Kiriko sat down on the seat and started eating what she bought. Chifuyu on the other hand does not know how to converse with her. He feels bad for being such a jerk. He was so focused on Baji that he did not notice Kiriko's wounds at all.
"Kiri—"
"If you are going to say something related to apologizing don't even think about it." she stopped him, "I understand."
Chifuyu could feel the tears starting to build up in his eyes. He let out a small sob and lower his head, "You are also hurt. To think about it, yours is much more dangerous than Baji-san."
She did not respond. But it is indeed true. A stab wound straight to the heart. The one who attacked her has the intent to kill her from the start while Baji's wound is in his upper stomach. Many even wondered how she survived while the other one did not. However, it is only in their perspective since the said dead man is alive and kicking.
"This has gotten dangerous, isn't it?" he said lowly and Kiriko simply hummed while finishing the last bite of her dorayaki.
"Well, our battle is different," her voice suddenly turns firmer, "but now it is the same."
Chifuyu looked at her with wide surprised eyes. He has thought about it but he does not want to believe it. His grip tightens.
"Does that mean..." Kiriko nodded.
"Something much more dangerous will happen Chifuyu. This does not concern the gang anymore." Her gaze changed, "We are already involved."
Just a little more push and we are finally going to enter the Black Dragons Arc! I am so excited. Since the manga is already finished. I think I am going to review the plot I would like how this story will end. I am so excited to reach the end and see what will happen for both Vongola and Toman's relationships! And of course the appearance of the other gangs and mafia along the way!
